Join us in October for our annual Celebration of Champions, featuring our special guest, Wendy Davis. CADW hosts this event to honor three women in the community who exemplify Democratic values and service to our community. This year we'd like to put special emphasis on three categories a Volunteer Champion, a Young Progressive Champion and Leadership Champion. You won't want to miss this incredible event.

Join us for Happy Hour and Trivia Night at Celis Brewery! Time confirmed is 5 to 7 pm. The brewery will be extending happy hour beer prices for us till 7. There is a food truck on premises and ample parking.

Ceiling Breakers: A Women's Equality Day Celebration


Join the Travis County Democratic Party, Capital Area Democratic Women and Annie's List for CEILING BREAKERS: A Women's Equality Day celebration on Monday, August 26. Bring your squad, your best friend, daughters, sisters, colleagues, a young woman you’re mentoring or a woman that inspires you. It’s like Galentine’s in August!

We'll kick off the event with a reception and, followed by a discussion with some of our favorite ceiling breakers and a screening of RBG, a documentary that takes an intimate look at the unlikely rock star Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, also known as the Notorious RBG, and her early legal battles that changed the world for women.

Speakers include Mayor Pro-Tem Delia Garza, the first Latina elected to the Austin City Council, County Judge Sarah Eckhardt, the first woman elected to the position, and Rep. Sheryl Cole, the first African-American woman elected to the Austin City Council.
